Appearance
Annabeth's hair is one of the most noticeable parts about her body. She has only gotten half of a dozen haircuts in her lifetime where they did more than a simple trim. Her hair is her prized asset, reaching all the way down her back. Its natural form is to fall in large, loose curls that appear to be more like waves unless she spends the extra time to style them in the morning. Her eyes are the sort that you won't see everywhere. They aren't the classic blue color that seems to garner a hundred love poems and songs. Instead they're a damper, less obvious color.
Annabeth stands around 5’4”. She’s full-grown for her age and is actually rather proud of her petite frame. She has a full oval face. Her cheeks still retain some of what an annoying aunt would call 'baby fat,' and it gives her otherwise thin frame some substance. She generally leaves her hair down so as to thin out her face, instead of pulling it back and allowing attention to be drawn to her plump cheeks.
Physically, Annabeth has very few marks or scars on her body. Her ears are pierced, but that's hardly remarkable for a girl in this day and age. She has no other piercings or tattoos, although she's often considered piercing her lip or nose simply out of a rebellious instinct. She would never actually go through with something like that, however, knowing already that she would hate it as soon as it was done. She has some birthmarks scattered across her arms, but nothing that is readily visible. All in all, Anna has rather fair, unblemished skin that she is quite proud of. She rarely needs to use foundation and only masks the lightest of freckles when she does.
Personality
Annabeth is the typical sweet and naïve witch. Being raised with muggles, she is overcome with desire to learn as much as she possibly can about the wizarding world, but she is also eager to make friends and feel a part of something greater. Her family has a history of Slytherins, but she couldn’t be more unlike them. She was raised to be happy and caring. To always look past people’s faults to find even the slightest hint of beauty. She can be fairly shy (when it comes to boys), but she is not unwilling to stick up for herself when necessary. That is one thing her brother taught her. She will hold her chest high and be proud of herself, but she would never use it to look down on others. She is a hard worker and refuses to let anyone down if she can help it. Any promise Annabeth makes is a promise Annabeth is going to keep.
History
Annabeth’s birth brought both joy and sorrow to her family. So, we shall start before she was born. Her mother Hylda was an American woman with English relations. It was on a trip to England to “discover her roots” that she met Geoffrey Pucey. He was a proud man that was hardly known for lowering his high-strung chin for a moment to give anyone a piece of his precious time. But, the day he met Hylda Pritchard everything changed. His world was turned upside down. He returned with her to America, forsaking his family’s wishes, to attain the family one could only imagine. There, they had a baby boy, which Hylda wanted to name after his father. But, Geoffrey’s family was refusing communication with him and claiming they did not have a son Geoffrey at all. Hearing this rumor infuriated him, so he refused to name his son a fourth where he was named the third. So, instead he gave a different name entirely.
A few years later, when communication with his family was a thing of the past, Annabeth was born. Unfortunately, there were complications in birth. Annabeth came out perfectly fine, but the stress of birth left her mother in a great deal of pain. No matter what the doctors did, they could not save her. Distraught by his wife’s death, the woman he threw everything away for, Geoffrey went into a depression. The first year of Annabeth’s life he hardly cared for her and her brother. She was watched over by a friend that refused to let her dear friend Hylda’s children go without care. Eventually, Geoffrey wised up. His children were all he had left of his wife, so he must not squander his opportunity to be with them while they were still young and innocent, but where they lived was a constant reminder of his wife’s absence. So, he took his children and moved back to England. Still, his family refused to see him or even acknowledge his presence. For several years they lived in England under poor conditions, waiting out the day his children would get invited to what he saw as the best wizarding school in the world. Suddenly, when Annabeth was five and her brother Geoffrey was eight, their father was killed under circumstances they were unaware of. The fallout of the dark lord’s disappearance before they returned to England was still going on, apparently, and their father was greatly against him. When the Pucey’s found out, they took the boy, but they knew nothing of a girl and so she was left behind. The next six years of Annabeth’s life were spent in a muggle orphanage, for no wizard in England claimed her, her relations in America were entirely unaware, and she (being only 5) had no idea how to contact them or that it was necessary.
Life was a constant challenge at the orphanage. She always felt she was meant for something greater and strange things happened around her quite often. Until finally, a strange letter came by owl to her window just before her eleventh birthday. It was too good to be true, but she accepted what it said immediately. She was going to be free of this life and magicked away! It was a letter from Hogwarts the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The only trouble was, convincing her care-takers of its truth and getting her supplies, but she had no idea how to do that. Fortunately! An extra letter was sent from a wonderful man named Albus Dumbledore. He wrote a warning that another letter would arrive, telling the orphanage that she has been invited to a prestigious muggle school, so that no one has to know what she really is. And so, it did arrive! It instructed than an employee would come to guide her to school and to help her buy her supplies. So, she was sent off with a measly amount of money given to her by the orphanage to start her new life.
It was strange at first, being surrounded by so many that had known their whole lives what they were until one day she met someone familiar. At least, they seemed familiar. He had her father’s nose, her mother’s eyes… her last name. He was a fourth year when she arrived. He was her brother she had nearly forgotten about and had apparently forgotten about her until he saw her sorted. He was quite a bit older than she when they were separated, so he had a better chance of remembering her than she did of him. Still, it took him some time to finally muster up the courage to speak to her and admit their relation. Annabeth was more than thrilled. Not a bone in her body felt anger for him getting the better life with a rich family. Sure, she was a little jealous, but she was mostly happy. She had a friend. For the next few years he did his best to protect her, giving her a galleon here and there to aid her, but never admitting that the family he lived with refused to hear of her when he tried to mention her arrival at Hogwarts. So, he helped her in ways only he could. Now, he has already graduated and gone off to start a new job, writing to her as often as he can. Annabeth feels a void in her life at Hogwarts, but she won’t let it get her down.
