Here's something I've been thinking about for a while. With the last name Rosier how did no one make a connection to the Rosiers or Lestranges sooner?

Simple, I never use my last name. Before my first year of school, the head master suggested I should probably just drop the last name. So as far as my classmates and teachers knew, I was just Elian Christophe. I've never used my last name in my past jobs either. Only a small handful of people have actually known my full name.
