We understand and accept that each member has their own style of writing and are at their own level of writing. We accept beginners, intermediate and those much more well-versed and we would like all of our members to do the same. Please try to avoid one-word or one-line responses. It makes it difficult to uphold a thread and for other characters to respond and keep up a plot or conversation. We understand that sometimes it is difficult to come up with a lengthy response but a few sentences will suffice. The more, the better. We would hate to have to require a word or character count for your responses.
We are an AU (Alternative Universe) site. While we don't require you stick to the original plot and story-line of the books, we ask that you try not to stray too far. If you have any questions what this means and what changes have been made from the original story, please ask.
Post Requirements
Writing in third-person and past tense is a MUST.
Correct: Alice walked through the door.
Incorrect: I walked through the door. (OR) She walks through the door.
Please double-check your spelling and grammar. Most browsers include a basic spell check anymore, don't ignore it!
Avoid having one person threads. If no one responds to you right away, post in the Chatbox or OOC to invite another character. Most of the time, another member will send someone to your thread. DO NOT write for another character (aka god-modding). The only time this is acceptable is when you own both characters or have been given consent.
Most importantly, stick to your character! Sure, some character might have a change of heart or change of personality but you should not have a kind-hearted Slytherin if you wrote that they were bitter and unkind in their application. Try to follow and stick to what you wrote in your original application.
Thread Requirements
Please try to keep all threads active or they will be deleted and/or locked!
If a thread has been going on for six or more months from its first and original post, it will be locked. Please make a new thread to continue.
If a thread hasn't been posted in for over a month, it will be locked. Please PM one of the administrators to get this resolved.
Other
The administration reserves the right to make any changes to any posts or threads as we see fit. We will never change the style of your writing, but we will fix errors as we see fit. You will be warned if we notice a reoccuring issue and we will try and fix it with you.
If you have any questions feel free to PM Kerri, Liz or Dumbledore.
